Today we are going to make one of the most famous street food of Mumbai “Ragda Patties” It’s a mouth-watering Snack option which is loved by all ages ..

With this rainy day, a plate of hot ragda patties would be sufficient for your hunger panks and can be a full meal for your lunch.


Boiled Potatoes – 4 large (500 gms)

Chickpea – 1 cup (200 gms)

Coriander – 3 to 4 tbsp (finely chopped)

Ginger Paste – ½ tsp

Green Chilli – 1 (finely chopped)

Turmeric Powder – ⅓ tsp

1 chilli flakes

Salt – 1.25 tsp (or to taste)

1 medium size chopped onion

1 medium size chopped tomato


Coriander Dip

Tamarind Dip


Green Coriander (finely chopped)

Red Chilli Powder

Black Salt

Cumin Seeds Powder ‘

Chaat Masala

How to make Ragda Patties

1- Take 1 cup of White Peas, soak them overnight and them in the cooker to boil.

2- Add 1.5 cups of Water in it along with 1 tsp of Salt, ⅓ tsp of Turmeric Powder.

3- Close the lid of Cooker and cook until the first whistle arrives.

4- Take 3 large boiled potatoes, peel and grate them.

6- Add ½ tsp salt, 1 tsp dry mango powder, 1 tsp red chilli flakes, 1 tsp black pepper powder and 2 tbsp corn flour.

8- Apply some Oil on your palms to grease them, lift some dough and roll to make its round ball.

9- Preheat the pan, spread some Oil over it, place the patties to fry.

10- Fry them until they are Golden Brown from the bottom on the medium-high.

11- Flip and fry them to avoid them from the burning.

12- Switch off the flame once they have fried and drain them out.

For Ragda

In a pan add 2 tbsp of oil, add 1tsp cumin seeds 1 bay leaf, 1-inch cinnamon, 5 black pepper corn and 5 longs.

Add 1 green chilli

Now add onion after that add dry masalas like 1 red chilli powder, 1 tsp coriander powder 1 tsp cumin powder, 1/2 tsp turmeric, 1 tsp chhili flakes

Add tomatoes and 2 tbsp water to make tomatoes soft

Add 1 boiled potato and mix it

Add boiled peas which we have soaked

Add water according to your consistency.

Add salt if you need

Boil for another 10 mins


1- Spread Ragda in a plate and place patties over it.

2- Add Green Coriander Dip over, Sweet Tamarind Dip, Red Chilli Powder, Black Salt, Roasted Cumin Seeds Powder, Chaat Masala, finely chopped Green Coriander and some sev.

3- Ragda Patties are ready to be served.
