Creamiest Mashed Potatoes

Today we are going to prepare Mashed Potatoes. I love this dish a lot specially in dinner , as it is super light creamy and yet filling. I usually have steamed veggies with Mashed Potatoes but often I prefer Grilled Chicken as well. 

Let us know from where exactly this dish came from and little brief about this dish.

Mashed potato or mashed potatoes (American and Canadian Name), casually recognized as mash is a dish organized by means of mashing boiled potatoes. Milk, butter, salt and pepper are used very regularly in preparation. The dish is normally a facet dish to grilled meat or steamed vegetables.

There are two kinds of Potatoes Starchy and Waxy, For Mashed Potatoes you want starchy potatoes It is recommended, though “waxy” potatoes are from time to time used for a distinct texture. But I have observed that with starchy potatoes, the texture is first-rate creamy. Butter, vegetable oil, milk and / or cream is commonly introduced to enhance flavour and texture, and the potatoes are pro with salt, pepper, and any different preferred herbs and spices. Popular components and seasonings consist of garlic, cheese, Sour cream, crisp onion or spring onion, caramelised onion, mayonnaise, mustard, horse radish, spices such as nutmeg, and chopped herbs such as parsley.


Starchy Potatoes 2 lb (Around 1 Kg)

Full Cream or Full Fat Milk

½ Cup Butter


Thyme (Optional)


Black Pepper

Parsley for garnishing


Peel the Potatoes and cut into pieces and transfer the pieces into a pot and boil the potatoes till 100%. Add little salt to the boiling pot.

Remove the excess water and sieve those potatoes as shown in the photos. You can always use masher or rice smasher but my choice is to sieve as it gives me the creamiest mashed potatoes.

Now on other side, on medium flame in a pot add full cream or full fat milk (your choice) and add minced garlic and thyme and bring it to a boil.

Strain the cream or milk as it will give you perfect creamy texture.

Add this creamy mixture to the potatoes which we have sieved (little by little) and mix properly. Seasoned it with salt and pepper or any other seasoning of your choice.

Serve with steamed veggies or grilled chicken and garnish it with parsley.
